BOOKS AND COMPUTERS FOR AFRICA
Project Information:
HELP International believes that education should be available to all youth in the world and that minimum standards of school resources should be every child's right.Did You Know?: School students in the Slums of Nairobi study in schools without the aid of a library nor a single student text book or even access to a dictionary or atlas.
Despite the lack of donor support, HELP intends to set up libraries for fifty slum schools in Nairobi. By the end of year 2003, HELP intends to outfit ten pre-selected schools with books in Kibera Slum with Art Africa providing 10,000 of its 150,000 books collected to date.
Books and Computers for Africa project is therefore a collection centre for towns across South Eastern Saskatchewan and Weyburn area to contribute books.
This service helps people give used books and computers to be sent to schools in Africa.
In return, HELP gives a Tax deductible receipt for a minimum of $100 in kind contribution.
